Lucas Piazon's first goal for Chelsea's senior side earned the European champions a 1-1 draw against Carlo Ancelotti's Paris St Germain in their pre-season friendly at New York's Yankee Stadium on Sunday night.

PSG, playing their third warm-up game ahead of the new campaign, did not select new signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic, nevertheless fielded a strong attacking line-up and provided a stern test for the Blues.

The Ligue 1 runners-up had the better of the first half and took the lead in the 29th minute, Nene scoring from the rebound after Javier Pastore had wriggled between Gary Cahill and Gael Kakuta, and struck his shot against the post.

Piazon's leveller came eight minutes from time, as the Brazilian U17 international coolly slotted home past an outstretched Alphonse Areola in the PSG goal.

The game also marked the return of club captain John Terry, making his first appearance since being cleared of racially abusing Anton Ferdinand, coming on as a second half substitute in the 62nd minute.

There was also a familiar face in the opposing line-up, with former Chelsea defender Alex named in Ancelotti's starting XI, as was summer signing Ezequiel Lavezzi.
