Arsenal captain Robin van Persie has agreed to join Juventus, according to Italian agent Fabio Parisi.

The FIFA agent is based in Milan and represents former-QPR defender Taye Taiwo, and according to Eurosport, Parisi has revealed the Arsenal captain has signed for the Italian champions.

Parisi claims that a deal with van Persie has been agreed "for some time", although the Dutchman's contract does not expire until next summer.

Eurosport reports that Parisi said: "I think Juventus have had a signed contract with van Persie for some time locked away in a notary's desk. It is just my opinion, but I think there's an eight out of 10 chance the Dutchman will join the Bianconeri."

Juventus, Manchester City and Manchester United lead the race to sign the Dutch forward, after van Persie revealed he will not be signing a new contract with Arsenal.

Most recent reports suggested it was a straight fight between the Manchester clubs, as Juventus were thought to have turned their attention to City striker Edin Dzeko.

But Parisi thinks it will be RVP, and not Dzeko, who joins the Turin-based club this summer.

"Juventus want to win and he is considered the ideal addition to achieve that," said Parisi. "I don't think Edin Dzeko is the right player for the Bianconeri."

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is still hopeful of keeping van Persie, and the Dutchman could see out his contract this season and leave for free at the end of the next campaign.

But the Serie A champions are in the market for a world-class striker, and have been linked with Liverpool forward Luis Suarez as well as van Persie, for much of the summer.
