Liverpool have seemingly inadvertently announced that Luis Suarez has signed a new long-term contract, amid speculation regarding his future with the club.
Reports on Tuesday claimed the Uruguayan striker is a target for Juventus, but the Reds have now apparently nipped this in the bud by tying Suarez down to an improved deal.
There, is however, some confusion after Liverpool seemed to accidentally reveal the Suarez news on their official TV channel, but soon displayed a 'Temporary Fault' before the broadcast was finished.
"Liverpool today have confirmed that Luis Suarez has signed a new long term contract with the club," stated the LFC TV bulletin. "The Uruguayan forward has committed his future to the Reds by putting pen to paper on Tuesday afternoon."
However, the club have yet to officially confirm the news via the usual outlets and it would seem that the news may have been broadcast accidentally prior to an announcement across all platforms later today.
Suarez joined Liverpool from Ajax for just under £23 million in January 2011 and has scored 21 times in 52 appearances during his time at Anfield.
The 25-year-old is currently under contract until 2016 but, it would appear, will stay on Merseyside beyond the terms of his current deal.
