Arsenal have finally off-loaded striker Carlos Vela to Spanish outfit Real Sociedad.

Vela hasn’t played for the Gunners since January 2011 and has been farmed out on loan three times since he joined the club from Guadalajara in 2006 having failed to reach the heights his talent promised.

A statement of Arsenal’s official website read: “Arsenal Football Club can confirm that Carlos Vela has completed a permanent move to Real Sociedad for an undisclosed fee.”

Vela spent the entire 2011/12 season on loan with his new club, scoring 12 times in 35 appearances as they finished in 12th place.

During his disrupted Arsenal career the Mexican international scored 11 goals in his 62 appearances, with his final appearance for the north London side coming in the 1-0 Carling Cup defeat against Ipswich Town in January last year.
