Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is reportedly confident of recruiting Spanish winger Cristian Tello on a season-long loan from Barcelona.
The 21-year-old impressed after graduating into the Barca first-team last season; scoring seven goals in 22 appearances for Pep Guardiola's side.
Tello, however, is far from a guaranteed starter at the Nou Camp with an array of established stars in front of him in new boss Tito Vilanova's selection order, and may be provided with the chance to further his education elsewhere.
Anfield could prove to be the destination for Tello to experience a greater taste of first-term action and, it is claimed, Rodgers believes he is close to a deal.
According to The Mirror, Rodgers is nearing an agreement for Tello after identifying the youngster earlier this summer as an ideal player to join his Liverpool revolution.
Tello, though, has no ambition to leave Barcelona for the long-term, and Liverpool may struggle to complete a permanent deal, should his loan stint with the Reds prove to be a success.
