Hazard predicts Torres goal rush

Eden Hazard expects Fernando Torres to fill his boots this season after the Chelsea striker opened his account for the campaign in the Community Shield on Sunday.

Torres scored the opener at Villa Park against Manchester City as Chelsea fell to a 3-2 defeat, with the Spaniard's goal coming after playing a starring role at Euro 2012.

The 28-year-old has struggled terribly for form since joining Chelsea in January, but won the Golden Boot as Spain triumphed at the European Championships this summer to suggest he is heading back towards his best.

Chelsea have yet to sign a new striker since the departure of Didier Drogba and, this season, Torres is likely to find himself as the club's undoubted No.1 forward for the first time since moving to Stamford Bridge.

Hazard certainly believes his new Chelsea teammate can reach somewhere near his Liverpool pomp over the course of the coming season as the Blues look to improve on last term's Premier League showing.

"It was a great finish," Hazard said about Torres' goal. "And I know a lot more will come.

"Fernando is one of the best strikers in the world - quick and powerful and very efficient in front of goal."
