Robin Van Persie’s move to Manchester United has sparked huge debate over which transfer is the greatest in Premier League history.

The Dutchman’s move from Arsenal to Old Trafford ranks as one the very best pieces of business in recent history, with last season’s Premier League Golden Boot winner swapping Arsene Wenger for Sir Alex Ferguson ahead of the new season.

Whilst Van Persie will have to prove to United fans that he’s worth the reported £24 million being splashed out, he doesn’t have to look far towards other players who have made a major impact following a big switch from one club to another.

In honour of the big-money move, GMF picks the top ten summer transfers in Premier League history, and invites readers to have their say on the topic at the bottom of the story.
