David Beckham provided two assists and netted direct from a corner kick as LA Galaxy emerged victorious from a thrilling encounter with Isidro Metapan in the CONCACAF Champions League on Thursday.

Galaxy had fallen behind after 17 minutes when Nicolas Munoz gave the El Salvador side the lead at the Home Depot Center, before a dangerous Beckham cross rebounded off Ricardo Alvarado to level three minutes later.

Beckham's precise ball was headed in by Robbie Keane in the 22nd minute to provide LA with the advantage, before the former England captain found the net somewhat fortunately from a corner.

The Galaxy were reduced to ten men for the final 20 minutes after Keane saw red in bizarre circumstances - receiving two questionable bookings in the same incident.

Keane's first yellow came for a supposed dive outside the Metapan box, before the referrer booked the Irishman again for an apparent display of dissent as he gestured towards the Galaxy bench.

The home side did, however, cope with a man disadvantage as Galaxy scored twice more in the closing stages - thanks to a Juninho brace - while Munoz netted a consolation from the penalty spot.
