Stoke have not commented on reports they have been unable to agree a deal with Tottenham for midfielder Tom Huddlestone.

The 25-year-old had been expected to join the Potters on a season-long loan and it was thought a package was close to being concluded. Manager Tony Pulis even spoke on Friday morning of his hope the matter would be finalised by early afternoon.

Speaking at his press conference to preview this weekend's game against Arsenal, Pulis said: "It is ongoing at the moment and I think it will be sorted out one way or the other by about lunchtime."
