Apart from the chase for Robin van Persie, the 2012 summer transfer window has been a relatively quiet affair so far, meaning there are plenty of issues still to be ironed out.

Premier League clubs have spent more than £300million on new signings, but if speculation surrounding a number of sides' prospective targets is to be believed, that figure will increase dramatically between now and August 31.

With five days remaining until deadline day, GiveMeFootball has identified five foreign imports destined for a move to England...

Yann M'Vila | Club: Rennes | Cost: £17m

One of the longest drawn out transfer sagas of the summer. The 22-year-old French international has been linked with Arsenal, Tottenham and now Manchester City.

M'Vila has spoken of his desire to move to the Premier League, having gone as far as he can in Ligue 1. Expect him to head to north London, with Arsene Wenger keen on a defensive midfield replacement for the departed Alex Song.

Leandro Damiao | Club: Internacional | Cost: £20m

Top goalscorer at the London Olympics, the Brazilian striker is on the radar of a number of English clubs, most notably Tottenham, who have links with Damiao's current club.

Andre Villas-Boas has recruited Emmanuel Adebayor, but Spurs still have a shortage of attacking options, and may splash the cash for the South American.

Stephane Mbia | Club: Marseille | Cost: £5m

The 26-year-old has attracted interest from a host of London clubs, including Chelsea, Arsenal and now QPR.

Rated at around £4.5million, Mbia's name has been mentioned in a part-exchange deal that would see former R's skipper Joey Barton head to France in the opposite direction.

Gaston Ramirez | Club: Bologna | Cost: £12m

After an impressive showing at the Olympics with Uruguay, the 21-year-old winger was linked with moves to Tottenham and Liverpool, before a surprise bid from Southampton.

The Premier League newcomers have so far emerged as the only club to meet Bologna's valuation of Ramirez, putting them in pole position to secure the exciting South American's signature.

Hector Herrera | Club: Pachuca | Cost: £4m

The Olympic gold medallist has attracted admiring glances from both Manchester United and Liverpool, and has made no secret of his ambition to play in the Premier League.

Herrera, 22, nicknamed "Zorro", currently has an ankle injury he suffered during Mexico's surprise 2-1 win over Brazil at Wembley earlier this month, but that shouldn't prevent a move being possible.
