Julio Cesar has expressed both surprise and delight about the prospect of joining QPR as he closes in on a shock transfer from Inter Milan.

Brazil goalkeeper Cesar looks set to leave the San Siro for Loftus Road, where he was on Tuesday to discuss terms ahead of Rangers' 3-0 Capital One Cup second-round victory over Walsall.

"I am a bit surprised, but I am delighted to have been given the opportunity by QPR to come to London, learn English and play in the Premier League," the 32-year-old told SporTV News.
