FIFA 13 have struck back in the battle for football supremacy in the world of computer games, releasing their television advert with less than a month to go until the official release on September 27th.
Just days after great rival Pro Evolution Soccer – made by Konami - released a playable demo on all formats, EA Sports brought out the big guns for an advert that mixed in-game footage with a number of big-names from the world of football.
Lionel Messi is undoubtedly the star, greeting a gamer when he first arrives in the FIFA world, before going head-to-head with the same young player in a Barcelona v Arsenal match to end the commercial.
Australian international Tim Cahill is busy reading the paper, before Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart distributes some kit to the players.
Former Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is engrossed in a tactical masterclass, before Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema shows how its done whilst briefly playing against some fans.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is then ‘sold’ to gamers in a real-life example of how FIFA’s Ultimate Team auction works, before the big game between Messi and his gamer-opponent begins.
