Andre Villas-Boas could hand a debut to new £15m signing Mousa Dembele.
The former-Fulham midfielder is in contention to start having completed his move before transfer deadline day, but fellow Spurs' new-boys Hugo Lloris and Clint Dempsey will not feature.
Jan Vertonghen will once again partner William Gallas at the heart of the Tottenham defence after Younes Kaboul was ruled out for four months.
Emmanuel Adebayor could make his first start for the club since making his move from Manchester City permanent, and Gylfi Sigurdsson is expected to continue in his role just behind the striker.
Villas-Boas is still looking for his first Premier League win since taking charge at White Hart Lane, and the visit of Chris Hughton’s Norwich will not be a straightforward affair.
Last season the Canaries nicked all three points from their visit to White Hart Lane, running out 2-1 winners. And Hughton will keen for Norwich to put in a similar sort of performance this time around.
The former-Newcastle boss spent a large part of a long and distinguished playing career at Tottenham, and will be eager to get his new club’s season up and running.
But Hughton will have to do without Simon Lappin, who is absent through an ankle injury. Recent signing Robert Snodgrass is likely to recover from a minor leg knock though.
“Dream come true”
Villas-Boas is putting together a new-look Spurs team, and his capture of Fulham star Clint Dempsey was one of the moves of deadline day.
The American rejoins former-Craven Cottage star Mousa Dembele, who has also traded London postcodes, and revealed he’s delighted to be working alongside Villas-Boas.
“"To play under this head coach [Andre Villas-Boas] and play for this club is a dream come true. I want to make the most of it," Dempsey said.
"There are a lot of great players here, I'm looking forward to training and playing with them."
