Thierry Henry serves headbutt suspension

Thierry Henry served his one-match suspension on Saturday after being banned for a charge of violent conduct during New York Red Bulls' defeat against Kansas City on Wednesday.

The former Arsenal striker was absent for Red Bulls for the weekend encounter with New England Revolution, which finished 1-1 following a stoppage time equaliser from the latter.

Major League Soccer decided to take retrospective action against Henry after he clashed with Kansas striker Kei Kamara in the 93rd minute of their meeting.

Henry appeared to clash heads with Kamara in the Kansas box, with the contact resulting in both players falling to the ground.

The referee decided against taking action over the incident, but Henry was banned on Friday and fined a undisclosed amount.
