Tottenham's Mousa Dembele has hailed Frank Lampard as a 'living legend' and has praised the Chelsea midfielder for his geniality both on and off the pitch.
Dembele has something of the Lampard about him, and the Belgian's ability to score from midfield attracted Andre Villas-Boas as Tottenham spent £15 million to capture him from Fulham.
The 25-year-old has made an impressive start to his career at White Hart Lane - scoring on his debut against Norwich - and says he is taking inspiration from Lampard as he continues his ascent.
“I admire Frank,” said Dembele, according to Sport360.
“He is a living legend in my eyes.
“Lamps is so relaxed, I have met him about five times in the city.
“People look at him, but don’t mob him. That is why London is great.”
Lampard's future with Chelsea, meanwhile, is in doubt with his contract set to expire next year and LA Galaxy keen to sign the veteran on a free transfer.
According to reports on Sunday, a representative of the 34-year-old was spotted in attendance at the Galaxy's game against Toronto, fuelling speculation that Lampard is closing in on a move to Los Angeles.
