David Beckham’s position as the superstar of Major League Soccer could be under threat from a young teammate at the LA Galaxy, with Juninho stealing the show in the absence of the former England international captain.

It wasn’t just the fact that the Brazilian-born midfielder scored twice in his side’s 4-2 win over Toronto FC on Saturday night, but the nature of the goals which had a certain Beckham stamp on them.
