Expectation is building in Europe, as EA Sports prepare to release FIFA 13 on Friday, 28th September.

The latest edition in the hugely popular franchise has already hit shelves in North America; with rave reviews suggesting the game is ‘close to football perfection’. Eurogamer has gone as far as to give the game a 100% rating.

Figures released by the developer have also revealed that over one million people have pre-ordered the game, whilst 4.6 million have played the demo on either PS3, Xbox 360 or PC.

Additionally, the EA Sports FIFA Facebook fan page has now surpassed 10 million likes, prompting a special ‘celebrations’ video in honour of the achievement.

Lionel Messi, Neymar and Mario Balotelli are just a few of the players to get special treatment from the makers of the successful franchise, with cheeky graphics and clever designs adding to the standard performances that come after scoring a goal.

All of this will come as bad news for Konami, the developer of Pro Evolution Soccer 2013. The FIFA rival hit the shelves last week amidst a much lower level of publicity, with cover star Cristiano Ronaldo going head-to-head with Lionel Messi.
