Manchester United predicted line-up v CFR Cluj

Manchester United travel to Romania for their latest clash in the Champions League, and manager Sir Alex Ferguson might well shuffle the pack following Saturday’s 3-2 Premier League defeat to Spurs.

The Red Devils won’t be taking their less illustrious competitors lightly however, with last year’s embarrassing early exit still fresh in the memory of all involved at the club.

That said, the Scottish boss has opted to rest Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs and Michael Carrick for the trip, whilst a host of Manchester United youngsters are vying for a place in the starting line-up.

David De Gea is expected to take the goalkeeping position back from Anders Lindegaard after the Danish stopper started against Tottenham, whilst Wayne Rooney could again miss out with Robin Van Persie starting in attack.

Rio Ferdinand is likely to be the experienced head at the heart of defence, whilst Darren Fletcher and Anderson are both in contention to play in central midfield for the Old Trafford outfit.

Manchester United – predicted team v CFR Cluj:

David De Gea; Rafael Da Silva, Rio Ferdinand, Jonny Evans, Alexander Buttner; Tom Cleverley, Darren Fletcher, Shinji Kagawa; Luis Nani, Robin Van Persie, Danny Welbeck.
