FIFA 13 became one of the fastest selling computer games in UK history this weekend, selling over one million copies since the much-anticipated release on Friday night.

The latest game in the EA Sports franchise joins Black Ops, Modern Warfare 2 and Modern Warfare 3 as the four titles to reach seven figure sales inside seven days.

Figures released from the UKIE Charts, compiled by the GfK Chart-Track, show that FIFA 13 bettered the FIFA 12 sales in week one by 27% in units and 31% in values. The complete market sales were also up 196% week-on-week.

Of those sales, FIFA 13 had 71% of the UK’s total market, absolutely smashing the competition to take top spot.

Big rival Pro Evolution Soccer, who have Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo on their front-cover, dropped to fifth place in the table, with Borderlands 2, F1 2012 and World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria separating the two football giants.
