Chelsea captain John Terry has received further backing following his Football Association charge, this time from former manager Carlo Ancelotti.

The Paris Saint Germain boss has added his support to the former England captain, who has been banned for four matches and fined £220,000, after being found guilty of racially abusing QPR defender Anton Ferdinand by an independent regulatory commission.

The investigation prompted Terry to call time on his international career, after he found his position with the Three Lions 'untenable' having already been cleared of the same accusation in a court of law.

The 31-year-old will now focus solely on his club football at Stamford Bridge, where he has continued to impress with Chelsea.

"It is unbelievable - John Terry doesn't deserve this," Ancelotti told EPSN Star. "I cannot understand how the FA can make a different decision. I think that it is really strange.

"He has a really fantastic relationship with everyone. I am sure he is not racist - 100 per cent."

A number of people in the game have already come out to declare their backing for Terry, but in spite of the support, Ancelotti believes it's highly unlikely he'll be coaxed out of retirement and return to Roy Hodgson's England set-up.

"I don't think he'll come back to play for England and I think that is a good decision," added the Italian.

"It is a bad thing for England, for sure, because John Terry did a lot of things for the national team."
