Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has heaped praise on emerging talent Andre Wisdom, after his impressive displays in the first-team.
The 19-year-old defender was handed his full Reds debut in the emphatic 5-2 victory against Norwich City last weekend, and has looked at home in the senior side.
Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, Rodgers said that the promising youngster - who was one of the Academy's stand-out performers in last season's NextGen series at centre-back - possesses all the qualities needed to become a top full-back in the Premier League for many years to come.
"They were outstanding [against Norwich]," reflected the Northern Irishman. "When I came in, Andre Wisdom had been playing a lot at centre-half but he has the physical and technical capacity to play full-back.
"The modern day full-back has a lot of the ball and he has got to have strength, pace and power. Andre has that."
Rodgers has made clear his intention to give opportunities to as many of Liverpool's up-and-coming players as possible at Anfield, making the route from the youth team through to the first-team as clear as possible.
In addition to Wisdom, Raheem Sterling and Suso have also made senior breakthroughs already this season, while a number of other young players and scholars are believed to be in the long-term reckoning.
