Liverpool predicted line-up v Udinese

Published Add your comment

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is once again expected to name an inexperienced side for the visit of Udinese in the Europa League, with Brad Jones tipped to keep goal for the Reds once again in the competition.

Jamie Carragher is expected to take the armband at the heart of defence, with Uruguayan Sebastian Coates set to play alongside the veteran. Andre Wisdom is likely to retain his place at right-back with Martin Kelly out through injury, whilst Jose Enrique is expected to come in for Glen Johnson on the opposite flank if he proves his fitness at Anfield.

In midfield, the youthful combination of Jordan Henderson and Jonjo Shelvey could play in the holding positions, whilst Joe Cole is in-line to step up his recovery from a hamstring problem after playing for the Liverpool second string earlier in the week.

Stewart Downing started against Young Boys of Bern last time out, and could well feature again here.

Fabio Borini, Oussama Assaidi, Dani Pacheco and Jerome Sinclair will all hope to be involved, although Suso’s rising influence in the Liverpool first team means he can expect to be on the bench alongside Raheem Sterling and Nuri Sahin.

Liverpool predicted team v Udinese:

Brad Jones; Andre Wisdon, Jamie Carragher, Sebastian Coates, Jose Enrique; Jonjo Shelvey, Jordan Henderson; Fabio Borini, Joe Cole, Stewart Downing; Dani Pacheco.
