Chelsea target Radamel Falcao insists he is committed to Atletico Madrid - although he has left the door open for a move away from the Spanish capital - reports, talkSPORT.

The 26-year-old Colombian international is one of the most highly-rated strikers in world football at the moment, after scoring an impressive 36 goals for the Liga club last season.

Falcao has started 2012/13 in typically scintillating fashion, with ten goals in his first six games - including a hat-trick against Chelsea in the European Super Cup final in August.

Blues boss Roberto Di Matteo is a confirmed admirer of the South American star, but has not been drawn on whether or not he intends to bring him to Stamford Bridge when the transfer window reopens in January.

Fernando Torres' struggles last term, meant Chelsea were heavily linked with a move for Falcao in the summer, although a bid failed to materialise.

However, in a recent interview with Spanish newspaper Marca, the forward said: "I have a contract for more years. Now my reality is Atletico and I cannot think of anything else.

"[But] I do not know what will happen in the future. The situation depends not only on the players and leaders, but also on the economy of the clubs and even the country."
