Newcastle United predicted line-up v Bordeaux

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has a number of injury problems ahead of Bordeaux’s visit in the Europa League, with goalkeeper Tim Krul one of a number of high-profile absentees.

That means Steve Harper will continue in place of the Dutchman for the Magpies, who also have a number of problems in the heart of defence.

Danny Simpson is set to return at right-back, which means James Perch is free to play at the heart of the defence alongside Mike Williamson with Italian Davide Santon playing on the left.

Pardew is likely to rest Yohan Cabaye again as he recovers from a mouth infection, which means Vurnon Anita could get his chance alongside Newcastle's summer signing Gael Bigrimana.

Gabriel Obertan will be hoping for a start against his old club, with Hatem Ben Arfa and Haris Vuckic also expected to get the nod.

Papiss Demba Cisse is likely to get the nod again up-front, although Demba Ba is in great form for Newcastle at the current time.

Newcastle United predicted line-up v Bordeaux:

Steve Harper; Danny Simpson, James Perch, Mike Wiliamson, Davide Santon; Vurnon Anita, Gael Bigrimana; Gabriel Obertan, Haris Vuckic, Hatem Ben Arfa; Papiss Demba Cisse.
