Inter Milan could be ready to enter the race for Theo Walcott – and are willing to offer out-of-favour Ricky Alvarez as part of the deal, according to CalcioMercato.
Walcott’s future at the Emirates stadium looks uncertain as his contract enters its final year, with an extension yet to have been agreed.
Now CalcioMercato report that Inter are weighing up a move for Walcott, and could be willing to include Alvarez as part of the deal.
Arsenal have been linked with a move for Alvarez for some tried and tried to land the Argentinian when he left River Plate in 2011, only to miss out to Inter.
However the 24-year-old has found first team action hard to come by this season, and has only featured in three league games, playing a sum total of just 97 minutes in Serie A.
Both Walcott and Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger appear keen to conclude a deal that will keep him in north London, but the England international has revealed him staying with the Gunners could hinge on whether he is deployed as a striker rather than on the wing, something Wenger has so far been reluctant to do.
