Real Madrid have made contact with Spanish starlet Suso over a free transfer move from Liverpool.
The 18-year-old attacking midfielder has an Anfield contract that expires in the summer of 2013, and Portuguese publication Record claims Los Blancos have already informed player representative Dani Rodriguez of their interest in the under-19 international.
Suso confessed in an interview with Marca last week that he’s a Madrid fan, with Cristiano Ronaldo and Xabi Alonso amongst his favourite players in world football.
However, Reds boss Brendan Rodgers will be hoping recent involvement at first team level will persuade the teenager to pen a new contract with the club.
And, with the Spaniard turning down a move to the Santiago Berabeu in favour of Merseyside before, Rodgers will be hoping the former Cadiz starlet repeats the trick when a new deal is put on the table.
“He’s in the last year of his contract, and it’s something we will look at," the Liverpool boss confirmed earlier this week.
"We did have a couple of offers for Suso in the summer, but I always said I didn’t want him to go.”
That philosophy will not have changed, and Rodgers will hope to get more out of Suso for years to come at Liverpool.
