Manchester United are reportedly keeping tabs on the situation of Danish teenager Viktor Fischer as Ajax prepare to offer him a new contract.
The 18-year-old has yet to make his senior debut for the Dutch giants but is likely to feature this year, having initially signed for the club following the Under-17 World Cup last year.
Sir Alex Ferguson had attempted to bring Fischer to Manchester United, but the young forward instead elected to move to the Amsterdam Arena, where he impressed in last season's NextGen Series.
According to talkSPORT, the Old Trafford club continue to monitor Fischer - prompting Ajax to rush through a new deal in an attempt to extend his stay in the Netherlands.
Fischer still has two years remaining on his current deal, but the Ajax hierarchy are eager to sit down with the player's representatives to discuss extended terms.
The teenage star is not the only young Dane at Ajax to have been linked with United, with Ferguson having previously revealed his admiration for Christian Eriksen.
