Manchester United striker target 'is like Neymar'

AC Milan star Stephan El Shaarawy, a reported target for Manchester United, has been compared to Brazilian sensation Neymar by former Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti.

El Shaarawy has been in fine form for Milan so far this season - scoring five goals in his last four appearances for the Rossoneri - while he was also granted his senior Italy debut against England.

This potency in front of goal has seen the 19-year-old Italian linked with a move to Manchester United as Sir Alex Ferguson makes plans to bring January reinforcements to Old Trafford.

Milan vice president Adriano Galliani has since moved to quell speculation by stating that the club have no intention of selling their emerging star, but still continues to talk up the teenager.

Galliani has likened El Shaaraway to former Barcelona and Inter Milan striker, but Paris Saint-Germain boss Ancelotti believes the young forward has more in common with Brazil international Neymar.

"Galliani comparing El Shaarawy to Eto'o? In terms of characteristics, El Shaarawy reminds me more of Neymar than Eto'o," the ex-Milan boss told Sky Sports.

"El Shaarawy has had a very good start to the season, and I'm curious to see him playing alongside Pato."
