Wesley Sneijder has reportedly opened the door to Manchester United by telling his agent he wants to move to the Premier League.

Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport makes the claim, according to 4-4-2.com, with the Dutch international hoping to reignite the interest of the Red Devils when the transfer window reopens in January.

TalkSPORT cited Portuguese sources at the start of the week when claiming that Manchester United would consider swapping Luis Nani for the Inter Milan star, suggesting that last season’s runners-up in the English top flight are still keen on the player.

Sir Alex Ferguson courted the player strongly last season, and was tipped to make a move for the player in the summer transfer window.

It never materialised, despite first-team coach Rene Meulensteen claiming the player would be a ‘perfect signing’ for Manchester United towards the end of the 2011/12 campaign.

Shinji Kagawa has since arrived at Old Trafford in a move from Borussia Dortmund, but with club legend Paul Scholes closing in on retirement, the door could still be open for Sneijder at Manchester United if Ferguson wants the player.
