Foxes climb to Championship summit

Published Add your comment

Leicester took top spot in the npower Championship after a regulation 2-0 win over Bristol City at the King Power Stadium.

Cardiff could yet return to the summit after this evening's late kick-off but David Nugent's 19th-minute opener and a Richard Foster own-goal in the second half ensured they kept their own promotion bid on the right track.

Managerless Blackburn, led temporarily by Eric Black, extended their winless run to four matches as they were defeated 1-0 by Wolves at Ewood Park. The stalemate lasted until the 78th minute but was ended when Bakary Sako struck from the edge of the penalty area to move Wanderers into third.
