Neymar open to Chelsea offer after Oscar pleads

Brazilian superstar Neymar has revealed Chelsea’s new signing Oscar has been urging him to join the Stamford Bridge club, and he revealed he would be open to an offer.

The Santos star claimed the new arrival in west London had been contacting him on a regular basis, but also revealed another international team-mate had been making persuasive arguments.

The 20-year-old revealed Roberto di Matteo’s new midfield star had been contesting with Barcelona full-back Dani Alves in trying to convince him to move to their respective clubs.

Roman Abramovich was reportedly close to signing Neymar two years ago, but he eventually turned down Stamford Bridge and opted to remain with Santos in Brazil.

Despite snubbing Chelsea in 2010, he admitted Oscar’s pleads had been persuasive and that he would listen to any offer from them, though he also indicated the Camp Nou side would be an option.

“Oscar messages me to tell me what a great club Chelsea is and what a great city London is,” he is quoted as saying in The Sun.

“He and Dani are both very good salesmen for their clubs.

“When the time is right I will listen to the right offers that my agent has for me.

“It is very simple — if Barcelona are interested you listen, if Real Madrid are interested you listen, if Chelsea are interested you listen.

“There are maybe five clubs in the world that you know you must at least listen to.”

Neymar is being billed as the successor to Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo as the best player in the world and so any possibility of a transfer is likely to draw the interest of most of the world’s best clubs.
