Juventus striker Vincenzo Iaquinta's agent, Giuseppe Iaquinta, has questioned the Serie A club's summer purchase of Arsenal forward Nicklas Bendtner.

The Danish international moved to Turin on a season-long loan deal on transfer deadline day - a move that has prompted an angry response from the 32-year-old's father and representative.

"This purchase I do not understand," Iaquinta senior told Tutto Juve. "Why spend money on him when you have Vincenzo in the team? Last year they took Marco Borriello – doing this has written down my son in an incredible way.

"I do not understand. What has Vincenzo done wrong? He was always respectful, always tried in training and because he suffered some injuries, has been shown the door like this.

"We have been polite, respectful, and yet Juve and the President do not say a word. When Juve were going through a bad period, Vincenzo was there for them. And then when he suffered some bad injuries, he was shut out like a rookie."

Bendtner's future at the Emirates Stadium appeared bleak after Gunners boss Arsene Wenger strengthened his forward line with the acquisition of Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud, forcing the 24-year-old to search for another club in his bid for regular first-team football.

Having spent 2011/12 on loan at Sunderland, the striker had hoped to be considered for the Arsenal team this season. But, after being left behind on the club's pre-season tour of North America, he opted to link up with the Bianconeri on loan.

Antonio Conte's side have started the season in fine form, with six wins and one draw from their opening seven games in Serie A. However, that hasn't prevented an element of unrest amongst some of the club's fringe players.

"It is not fair to treat a person like that," added Iaquinta. "With all due respect to the Agnelli family, you cannot destroy a person psychologically like they have done with [my son] Vincenzo."
