Solbakken sets sights on Arsenal midfielder

Wolverhampton Wanderers are planning a loan move for Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong, reports the Daily Mirror.

The 20-year-old enjoyed a brief spell at Molineux last season, before suffering a cruciate ligament injury in February, just five games into his spell.

After seven frustrating months on the sidelines, Frimpong finally made his Gunners comeback in the emphatic 6-1 Capital One Cup victory against Coventry City at the Emirates Stadium last month, and has also featured in a number of reserve games to build up his match fitness.

With competition for places as tough as ever in the Arsenal first-team, Arsene Wenger might be open to letting the Ghanaian-born star leave north London on loan, with another stint at the Championship club, helping him return to full fitness.

Wolves have made a positive start to the campaign following relegation from the Premier League last season, winning six and drawing one of their first ten games under new manager Stale Solbakken.

They currently lie joint-third in the table on 19 points, three behind leaders Cardiff City, and will be confident of maintaining a push for an immediate return to the top-flight.
