Liverpool star inks his commitment to the club
Liverpool news: Daniel Agger reveals reasons behind Liverpool tattoo
Daniel Agger's commitment to Liverpool is undoubted following the signing of a new contract with the club last week, but the Danish defender had already made one significant gesture to show his loyalty to the Reds.
The Danish defender to put pen to paper last week but, before inking his paperwork, decided to ink his skin in tribute to the Reds' famous anthem You'll Never Walk Alone.
Over the summer months, Agger had the letters YNWA tattooed across the knuckles of his right hand to show to Liverpool supporters that the only place he wanted to be was Anfield.
And, now, with his new long-term Liverpool contract signed, any concern among fans that the 27-year-old may look to leave the club has evaporated.
"I'd thought about it for a long time," he told the official Liverpool website when asked about his tattoo. "As I said, I feel a part of this club - and I feel a part of this city. I have been here so long now, so it was an easy decision.
"I am proud to be here and I think my knuckles show that."
Agger has been a key performer for Liverpool this season under the stewardship of new manager Brendan Rodgers, even though results have hardly gone to plan so far.
Liverpool have won just once in the Premier League this term, with the Reds beginning slower than at any point in the past 100 years, and have only six points from seven games.
Last weekend saw Liverpool fail to break down a resolute Stoke at Anfield, and their next encounter will be with Reading - a former club of Rodgers - on October 20.
