The race to buy Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski is reportedly hotting up as we approach January, with Arsenal and Juventus joining Manchester United as possible suitors.

The Old Trafford club have long been linked with the Poland international but recent reports suggest their interest will be rivalled by two more of Europe’s biggest clubs.

Arsenal are looking for another striker in January and are ready to rival Sir Alex Ferguson by attempting to lure Lewandowski away form Manchester United and to the Emirates Stadium, according to a report in the Daily Telegraph.

Meanwhile, talkSPORT are reporting that the Serie A champions’ interest is beginning to solidify and that their sporting director, Fabio Paratici, is set to travel to Warsaw to watch him play for Poland against England – and possible future Manchester United team-mates, should he move their.

However, there is no guarantee Dortmund are willing to let their top scorer from last season leave and it would likely take a sizeable bid to convince the Bundesliga champions to allow a player that scored 30 goals in all competitions last season leave.

Arsenal are a touch quality light up front, with Olivier Giroud the only natural centre-forward option – Marouane Chamakh has scored twice since December 2010 and rarely makes the bench anymore – while Gervinho and Lukas Podolski can play there, but Wenger prefers tham in wider roles.

Manchester United, however, have an abundance of striking options, having raided the Gunners this summer for captain and Premier League Golden Boot winner Robin van Persie, which added to their already impressive stable containing Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck and Javier Hernandez.
