Manchester United scouts track Juventus starlet
Manchester United transfer news: Richmond Boakye linked with Old Trafford move
Manchester United are once again being linked with a move for highly-rated Juventus teenager Richmond Boakye.
The 19-year-old Ghanaian international moved to Europe in 2008, making quick strides in the Genoa youth team before a competitive Serie ‘A’ debut in April 2010.
A season-long loan with Sassuolo followed, and Boakye’s form in the second tier led to Juventus buying the player in a co-ownership deal this summer. They’ve again loaned him back to Eusebio Di Franchesco’s side however, as the Neroverde look for promotion to the Italian top flight for the first time in their history.
Manchester United have reportedly taken notice, according to Italian newspaper Corriere Mercantile – as reported in Spain, with Sir Alex Ferguson sending scouts to watch the player in Serie ‘B’ action. The Scottish boss was also linked with a move for the player last year.
The Red Devils appear to have a transfer advantage with Boakye too, after the player admitted last month that he dreams of playing in the Premier League, and more specifically at Old Trafford.
"My dream is to play in the English Premiership, hopefully Manchester United in the next few years," he told Graphic Sports.
Were Ferguson able to land the player, it would be a major coup for Manchester United, who lost rising star Paul Pogba to the Bianconeri in the summer.
