Barcelona could sell David Villa if they sign Brazil star Neymar, according to Italian news source tuttomercado.com.
The La Liga side are thought to be leading the race to sign the Santos star, and the Catalan club could opt to offload David Villa to free up space for Neymar.
The 20-year-old played and scored as Brazil beat Iraq 6-0 in an international friendly on Thursday night.
Neymar is wanted by a whole host of Europe's top clubs, including Chelsea, Manchester United and Barcelona. And the Spanish side are believed to be the front-runners.
Dani Alves, Neymar's Brazil teammate, has made it clear he'd love to play alongside Neymar at Barcelona - if only for the link-up play with three-time Ballon 'dOr winner Lionel Messi.
Neymar has insisted he will be staying in Brazil until after the 2014 World Cup, but Barcelona are thought to want to secure his signature before the tournament.
To facilitate the deal, Barcelona could sell Spain star David Villa. And Spanish site Fichajes.com claims Villa could be the first player to leave the Nou Camp if Neymar signs.
Liverpool have been linked most recently with the former-Valencia striker, and following the injury to Fabio Borini, the Anfield club desperately needs a striker.
Borini suffered a fractured foot on international duty with the Italy under-21's.
Villa has suffered with injury himself, and has only recently returned to the first-team after recovering from a broken leg. But the 30-year-old has seen his minutes reduced, and he's now forced to compete for a starting place with Pedro, Cristian Tello and Isaac Cuenca, as well as Alexis Sanchez, Lionel Messi and Andres Iniesta.
