Chelsea and Manchester City are on a collision course over the signature of Atletico Madrid forward Radamel Falcao, with both teams willing to do all they can to land the in-form forward.
Falcao has marked himself out as one of the most dangerous strikers on the planet, and so far has eight goals in La Liga for Madrid.
The Colombian also bagged a hat-trick against Chelsea in the Super Cup last month to help down the Stamford Bridge club 4-1.
While Madrid insist they will not sell up in January, their hand may be forced if the release clause in Falcao’s contract is activated by a suitor.
Both Chelsea and Manchester City have been heavily linked with Falcao in recent months, with Citizens boss Roberto Mancini in Madrid last weekend, reportedly casting an eye over the former Porto forward ahead of a January swoop.
Now, according to the Sunday Express, both Chelsea and Manchester City are willing to throw everything they have to land the striker, with both clubs willing to spark a bidding war to land their man.
The issue could be complicated somewhat by the interest of Paris Saint-Germain, who are more than capable of matching both Premier League clubs financially
