Roma midfielder Daniele de Rossi will hold crunch talks with manager Zdenek Zeman as his future in the Italian capital hangs in the balance.
The Italian international reportedly fell out with the Roma boss last week after his professionalism was called into question.
That reportedly alerted both Manchester City and Chelsea to his availability, with the Citizens in particular said to be keen on landing De Rossi after attempting to get their man over the summer.
His insistence that he would stay in Rome over the summer amidst interest from Manchester City has been put in doubt given recent developments.
Now, according to Il Romanista, De Rossi is still smarting at his treatment at the hands of Zeman, who only took over at the Stadio Olimpico in July, and will hold talks in order to clarify his position in the team having been dropped for Roma’s 2-0 win over Atalanta before the international break.
Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has previously admitted he would like to lure De Rossi to the Etihad Stadium, however the addition of Javi Garcia and Jack Rodwell over the summer mean they are well stocked in the midfield area.
