Barcelona turned down the chance to sign Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris over the summer, according to Catalunya Radio.
Lloris was at the centre of a drawn out transfer saga before he finally completed his move to Spurs on deadline day in August.
According to Catalunya Radio, Lloris was offered to Barcelona in the dying days of the summer transfer window however the Spanish giants turned down the opportunity to land the 25-year-old, allowing him to finalise his move to Spurs.
Barcelona can currently call on Victor Valdes as their number one, while Jose Manuel Pinto provides back up.
Spurs meanwhile have four goalkeepers, Brad Friedel, Carlo Cudicini and Heurelho Gomes to go along with Lloris, having failed to offload at least one over the summer.
The Frenchman has struggled for game time at White Hart Lane so far, but made his first Premier League appearance against Aston Villa at White Hart Lane before the international break and helped Spurs record their first clean sheet of the league season.
Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas has hinted Friedel may be bought back in after missing a league game for the first time since 2004 against Villa, when Tottenham face Chelsea this Saturday.
Before then however Lloris will come up against Valdes and a host of players who could have potentially been his new team-mates when France take on Spain on Tuesday.
