Agent to offer United winger to AC Milan

Manchester United winger Nani could be heading to Serie 'A' giants AC Milan, according to reports in Italy.

Italian newspaper Gazzetta Dello Sport reports that Nani's agent, Jorge Mendes, is exploring the options for his Portuguese player, and AC Milan could move to take the United midfielder in the summer.

A January transfer is described as "more difficult", but Nani could make the switch from Manchester United at the end of the season.

The Portuguese star has plenty of suitors, with Inter Milan, Juventus and Zenit St Petersburg all thought to be interested in the Manchester United star.

Nani has slipped down the pecking order at Old Trafford, and has found his first-team opportunities limited this season. Even with Ashley Young out injured, Nani has found himself on the bench, with Danny Welbeck, Antonio Valencia and Wayne Rooney preferred in wide areas.

Nani is under contract with United until 2014, but reportedly fell out with the Old Trafford hierarchy over negotiations for a new contract.

The 25-year-old signed from Sporting Lisbon in 2007, and was initially seen as the next Cristiano Ronaldo after following a similar career path.

And Nani has shown glimpses of his undoubted promise since joining Sir Alex Ferguson's side, but his inconsistency has held him back.

United signed the Portuguese international for close to €20m in 2007, and they would likely look to at least recoup that fee should they decide to sell the winger.
