Former Manchester United striker, Giuseppe Rossi, could be set for a move to Inter Milan in January, according to the Villarreal star's agent, Federico Pastorello.

Sky Sports reports how the 25-year-old is currently recovering from a second knee ligament operation, which has sidelined him at Estadio El Madrigal for nearly a year.

Rossi's 2011/12 campaign was ended early after an injury to his right knee in the Yellow Submarine's 3-0 defeat by Real Madrid on October 26, 2011, forcing a six-month spell out of action, before suffering a recurrence in April this year.

The American-born forward began his career at Old Trafford, after Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson spotted the young forward playing for Parma's youth team in Italy.

However, after failing to make the grade at Manchester United, he was sold to Villarreal for an undisclosed fee in 2007 - believed to be in the region of €10million - where he has impressed, prior to the career-threatening injury.

"Giuseppe Rossi will recover 100 per cent and we'll see him back on the pitch in March," Pastorello confidently told www.gazzetta.it. "He will come back stronger than before.

"Inter are a viable option for Giuseppe Rossi. We talked a lot about the various ways in which we can be in Italy and abroad."

Fiorentina and Roma are also believed to be monitoring Rossi's situation, and will also fancy their chances of securing his signature, following Villarreal's relegation from La Liga last season.
