Manchester City are gearing up to launch a £30 million bid for unhappy Roma midfielder Daniele de Rossi, according to the Sun.

Reports of De Rossi’s unhappiness in Roma began circulating last week, with the Italy international said to be angered by his treatment at the hands of boss Zeman Zdenek.

The Roma manager reportedly questioned De Rossi professionalism before dropping him for the game against Atalanta before the international break – prompting the Manchester City target to demand showdown talks over his future when he returns from international duty with Italy this week.

The Citizens were heavily linked with a move for De Rossi over the summer, with manager Roberto Mancini expressing his admiration for the roving midfielder.

The 29-year-old held a press conference before the start of the season ruling out a move away from the Stadio Olimpico amidst continued reports of a Manchester City bid .

However now De Rossi is believed to be questioning his future in Italy, and the Sun reports that the Citizens are ready to make their third bid of around £30 million in attempt to finally get their man.

The fact De Rossi signed a new five-year deal worth would not be a problem for City, nor would his £180,000per-week wage demands according to the paper.

City did bolster their midfield options over the summer by bringing in Javi Garcia and Jack Rodwell, although that is unlikely to deter them in their efforts to take De Rossi to the Etihad Stadium.

Yaya Toure’s agent revealed yesterday he may seek to leave Manchester City in the summer, something which could be behind their renewed interest in De Rossi.
