Porto forward James Rodriguez has admitted he is tempted to make the move to play in Spain, but also described the Premier League as ‘very good’ amidst reported interest from Manchester United.
Rodriguez has established himself a reputation as being one of the brightest young prospects on the continent, and has so far scored four goals in eight appearances for Porto this season, including the winner against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League earlier this month.
Manchester United have been linked with a move for the ‘South American Cristiano Ronaldo’, and the 21-year-old expressed his admiration for the Old Trafford club yesterday.
“We all know that Manchester United are a great club,” he said.
“England is a great league but I’m thinking of Porto for now. We’re having a good time and personally I’m feeling fine and am focused on there.”
Now though he has also moved to associate himself with both Real Madrid and Barcelona by praising the Spanish giants, while also once more talking up the Premier League.
“I think it would be good for me to play in a league like La Liga. I like Real Madrid. Barcelona? They play good football and I admire them too,” he said.
“I also like the Premier League, it’s a very good championship,” he added.
According to reports this week, Manchester United’s interest in Rodroguez could spell trouble for Nani.
The Portuguese winger has had a hit-and-miss career at Old Trafford since he joined the club in 2007.
Both AC Milan and Juventus have been linked with a move for Nani, who has made over 200 appearances since Sir Alex Ferguson snapped him up from Sporting Lisbon.
It was also reported that the Man Utd winger turned down the offer to join Zenit St. Petersburg over the summer.
