AC Milan midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng has declared he is staying put in Italy after rumours linked him with a move to Liverpool and Manchester United.

Sky Sports reports how the 25-year-old still has two years to run on his existing contract at the San Siro, but that hasn't prevented a raft of speculation about his future.

"I am not the source regarding this gossip, but I definitely have been made aware of these rumours," Boateng told German sports magazine Sports-BILD.

"I am able to say I am very happy at Milan and am clearly not packing my bags."

German newspaper TZ claimed earlier this week that Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson was considering a bid to bring the Ghanaian international to Old Trafford, as the club continues its search for a long-term replacement for veteran Paul Scholes.

However, Liverpool also have a potential vacancy in the attacking midfielder position, with Turkish international Nuri Sahin only on loan at Anfield.

Boateng would add more depth to Brendan Rodgers' squad on Merseyside, particularly in light of their recent injury problems, as the Reds look to challenge for a place in Europe once again next year.

But, any hopes either Liverpool, Manchester United, or fellow suitors Bayern Munich - where the Milan star's brother Jerome plays - might have had of luring Boateng, have effectively been dashed, after he reiterated his commitment to the Serie A giants.

"Milan is a club I owe a lot to," he added. "I am clearly not intended to think about Bayern Munich or what other club ever."
