LA Galaxy will reportedly move to secure the services of Chelsea star Frank Lampard in the January transfer window, as his deal with the club edges closer to expiration.
Lampard is out of contract next summer and, so far, Chelsea have yet to give a clear indication that the veteran midfielder will extend his stay at Stamford Bridge beyond the terms of his current deal.
LA Galaxy have been linked with Lampard for some time and are now reportedly ready to offer the 34-year-old a way out of Chelsea during the winter transfer window, with his role at the club becoming increasingly limited.
According to the Daily Mail, Galaxy are preparing to make their move for Lampard in January as they keep tabs on his current situation with Chelsea.
Lampard was a substitute in the weekend victory over Tottenham, with Roberto di Matteo instead deciding to start with Ramires and John Obi Mikel in his Chelsea midfield.
The England international has scored 189 goals in 569 appearances during his time with Chelsea, having joined the club from West Ham 11 years ago.
