Chelsea starlet dumped for poor timekeeping on loan

Chelsea starlet Gael Kakuta is in trouble with his loan club Vitesse after turning up late for training for the third time since joining the Dutch club, according to talkSPORT.

Kakuta signed for Vitesse on a season-long loan on transfer deadline day, but is still waiting to make his debut in Holland.

Injury to Renato Ibarra meant Kakuta was in the frame for his first appearance of the season against NAC Breda, but the Chelsea midfielder was left out of the Vitesse squad for poor timekeeping.

"Normally I'm OK about these things and would just warn him again," Vitesse coach Fred Rutten told De Telegraaf.

"But this was his third time already. That is not smart of him. I've warned him before and this time I left him at home."

The 21-year-old is on his fourth loan spell, having spent time at Fulham, Bolton Wanderers and Dijon, and the France under-under 21 international has found it difficult to hold down a place in the Chelsea squad.

The skilful winger was signed from Lens as a youngster, and progressed through the Chelsea youth academy, but has so far failed to make the step up, despite his undoubted talent.

And it seems Vitesse coach Rutten has run out of patience with the Frenchman, raising the possibility that he could cut his loan spell short.

Chelsea have started the season in excellent form, and continued that on Saturday with a 4-2 victory over Tottenham at White Hart Lane.

Following a frantic summer of transfer activity at Stamford Bridge, Kakuta has found himself behind Oscar, Eden Hazard, Juan Mata and Victor Moses in the pecking order at Chelsea.
