Chelsea star happy with landmark appearance
Chelsea News: Ramires happy to have played 100 times for Chelsea
Ramires is happy to have made his 100th appearance for Chelsea, and believes he has proved his doubters wrong ahead of the Blues going up against Ukrainian outfit Shakthar Donetsk tonight.
The Brazilian signed on the dotted line for Chelsea in 2010 from Benfica, and has gone on to establish himself as a regular at Stamford Bridge.
Ramires endeared himself to the club’s fans with a series of high-profile goals, including his stunning effort against Barcelona in the Champions League semi-final last season.
The 25-year-old says he is happy to be have passed the landmark for Chelsea, and admits his arrival in the Premier League came at a time when some were questioning whether Brazilians could adapt to life in England.
"I'm very happy to have reached 100 games for Chelsea," Ramires told Terra.
"I arrived at the club at a time when people still said that Brazilians struggled in England. I'm glad that I helped make this vision change.
"I have only had good moments here. I can't deny the biggest ones were the Champions League title and the goal against Barcelona in the semis."
Ramires will likely have the chance to continue his run of fine Champions League performances when Chelsea go up against Donetsk in the Donbass Arena this evening.
