Champions League matchday three was a humbling experience for Premier League sides, as Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal all suffered devastating defeats.

City slumped to a 3-1 defeat at Ajax, while Chelsea returned from Ukraine with nothing to show for their visit, and Arsenal limped to a 2-0 home loss to Schalke.

Only Manchester United managed to secure three points - but that was a bit of a salvage job after they were stunned by a fast start from Braga - the Portuguese side raced into a 2-0 before Sir Alex Ferguson's side stormed back in customary fashion to win 3-2.
