Atletico Madrid striker Adrian Lopez claims he is 'very happy' in Spain, despite reported interest in his signature from Arsenal as the January transfer window approaches.

Adrian is reported to have been identified by Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger as his top target for the next window as the Gunners look to bring further goalscoring reinforcements to the Emirates Stadium.

According to, Arsenal are ready to trigger the release clause of £14.6 million written into Adrian's contract with Atletico Madrid in order to bring the 24-year-old to north London.

Adrian, however, has deflected rumours of a move to Arsenal in the New Year and insists he is content with life with Atletico Madrid, with whom he is contracted until 2015.

"I'm very happy at the club and I want to do as much as I can for the team," he told AS.

Although Arsenal are reported to be considering more recruits to further compensate for the departure of Robin van Persie, the priority is likely to remain retaining the services of the assets the club already have.

Theo Walcott is out of contract at the end of the season and continues to negotiate with Arsenal about a new deal, although it would seem little progress is being made.

Wenger this week reiterated his desire to keep Walcott at Arsenal, while the Gunners winger has been linked with moves to Liverpool and Juventus.
